When Matt + Kelly pulled into my driveway in Vail, CO to discuss outfits and the plan for the day, I immediately noticed the connection they shared. The way that Matt cares for Kelly is so evident in everything he says and does.   Matt + Kelly are planning an incredible wedding in New Mexico next summer and when Kelly reached out to see if I was available, of course, I was thrilled! Kelly and I studied abroad in Southern Spain together in college and I always loved her sense of adventure, so it did not come as a surprise (well maybe a little) when I heard they were willing to road trip out to Vail, Colorado for a mountain weekend getaway to meet me for their engagement session!  I truly LOVE it when a couple takes full advantage of their engagement session and are open to going away from the beaten path to make their session an experience. I tried my best to make it one they would never forget, and I think (with Colorado’s weather helping us out) we reached out goal.   It was truly a day to never forget.  It was the peak of the Vail Valley’s Fall season, when the gorgeous Aspen Fall leaves change to their rich gold color! I LOVE the fall the in Colorado and wanted to find a location that really showed off the gold aspens and the mountains of Colorado! We drove all the way up to Beaver Creek Ski Mountain and the views were breath-taking. Kelly + Matt have a contagious energy and are truly up for anything, so I knew Kelly wouldn’t mind a short hike in her cowgirl boots to get to the perfect Aspen grove.  We hiked, laughed, talked about their beautiful love story, and finished the night with a celebratory glass of champagne watching the sunset from a mountain top.  Definitely a day to remember.  Kelly + Matt – thank you for inviting me to be a part of your story on your wedding day in New Mexico next summer!  I can’t WAIT!
