Mike and Anna would see each other on the dock before races from time to time. But it wasn’t until Mike invited Anna onto the boat with him and his friends to watch the fourth of July fireworks, that sparks flew. From that night on – they were inseparable. They enjoyed living in the Colorado Rockies to the fullest. They would mountain bike, camp, hike, eat good food, enjoy chocolate {and yes, it deserves its own category}, and of course, race sailboats, only this time as teammates. In April 2012, Mike & Anna traveled to Wisconsin for a friend’s wedding. Inspired by the love Mike had seen displayed that weekend, he knew he didn’t want to wait a moment longer. So on the drive home, Mike took Anna back to the lake where they met and asked her to be his teammate, his wife.
Mike + Anna invited their family and friends to witness their love and commitment as they tied the knot at Lake Dillon on a beautiful Colorado Fall day. Their nautical themed wedding was straight out of a magazine! Every detail was beautiful, authentic and personal.
It was amazing to connect with your family, especially upon learning that Anna’s uncle grew up in Harvey, IL and was best buds with my uncle. Our grandmas were friends. I can definitely see why my grandmother would want to be friends and close with such an incredible family.
From beginning to end, the day illustrated your love, care and dedication to each other – and more so – how you as a couple, value caring for your friends. Mike + Anna, thank you for inviting me to be a part of such a lovely wedding celebration!
Anna started her morning of relaxation and cozy robes at the Westin Riverfront Resort as she was getting ready for her seamless wedding day.
The girls tried on their grandmother’s jewelry to select the piece they’d wear for the special occasion.
Mike arranged for us to be able to get onto the sailboat where they first met.
