I love the seasons. I have always lived in a place with 4 distinct seasons (well, except for my time living in Africa) and each season brings me so much joy! But I must confess, summertime has a special place in my heart. So I decided to start a new series #KLPFavoriteFinds highlighting a couple of favorite seasonal meals, activities, or fashion trends. My hope is that through this series #klpfavoritefinds it will encourage you to plan a great adventure, check out a yummy recipe or treat yourself to a cute outfit! So as we wrap up the summer season, I thought I’d squeeze in my summer finds all into one post! So here we go!
Summer Fashion Trend: P&P Scalloped Flowy Shorts.
To be real, friend to friend, I have not always liked wearing shorts in the past. I was not confident or comfortable with my thighs, so I avoided shorts since most shorts were really fitted and it highlighted a feature I was insecure about. But when I tried on these adorable scalloped french girl shorts, from my favorite Denver fashion pop up truck, Patterns & Pops, I was so excited to see that they were flattering and comfortable! I love the flowy look – plus they sorta feel like you are wearing PAJAMAS haha but they are still super cute!! Thanks to my girls at P&P for helping me score this adorable find! (*plus I love supporting my clients and past #klpbrides in their own creative businesses! And these shorts are NOW ON SALE!) And thanks to see my sweet friend Tonie Christine for snapping these photos at one of our lunch dates this summer!
Summer Activity/Date Idea: SAILING!
I wish I could tell you that I learned to sail by myself this summer…but that would not be true. (Although that is a life goal of mine! ) Nope, this is a public sailing trip that is the PERFECT way to show off the city to a friend visiting in town or a romantic date! It’s a public sailing boat, so other people are on that boat, but when I went I brought a few friends and we had the whole front section of the boat to ourselves! We brought on board a little picnic, and enjoyed good cheese, crackers and wine as we watched the sunset and sailed across the Puget Sound with the gorgeous Seattle Skyline behind us! And guess what!? It’s affordable!! With Emerald City Charters – it’s only $35/person for 1.5 hour sailing sail or $51 for a 2.5 hour sunset sail!! Plus they still offer their sailing trips through September!
One of my best friends, Melissa, came out to visit this summer for a weekend and we had a weekend full of fun adventures, but I must say I think the sailing was our favorite!
THE BEST Summer Breakfast: MY FAVORITE SUMMER PARFAIT COMBO
This summer I found my GO-TO seasonal parfait. I have fallen in LOVE with the greek yogurt brand Noosa! So here is my go to:
1/2 container of Noosa yogurt ( Honey Flavor)
1/2 cup of Bear Naked Granola (vanilla almond flavor)
Peaches * Fresh Summer fruit
Strawberries *
Rainier Cherry (in the early summer season) OR a few raspberries in the later summer season
That’s it! So yummy and fresh!
Funny fact about me. I much prefer circular spoons over oval spoons. Random, I know. :)
I would LOVE to hear your summer treats or best finds! It’s been a gorgeous Seattle summer and this season comes to a close… I must say I’ll miss it but there are so many things to look forward to this Fall!!
