It was the perfect mountain wedding for the perfect Colorado love story. Throughout the whole day there was a buzz of excitement in the air. As friends and family walked onto the wedding island on the Vail Golf Course their jaws dropped as they faced the stunning gore range. Katie & Chris are the type of people who surround themselves with authentic and loving people; people who believe in their love and in their marriage.
It was a cold winter day in December when Katie decided to go snowboarding on Vail mountain and while on the slopes, she met the man that captured her heart. Katie got onto a chairlift and met Brad (a groomsman) who invited her to go riding with him and his friends. She agreed, and rode down to the next chairlift to join them, and was intrigued by the cute, shy, but flirty, snowboarder who stood out among the group of friends. Chris & Katie rode up Chair 2 Avanti (who they named their adorable golden retriever after ) and before the next lift, Chris struck up the courage to ask for her number. When Chris called later to ask her on their first date, they both were nervous they wouldn’t recognize each other without ski gear on! But the moment their eyes met in the Tap room in Vail village, their stunning smiles gave them away and they have been inseparable ever since.
Chris moved to Denver to be closer to Katie, even though he vowed he would never leave the mountains…but she was worth it. They live an adventurous life together; traveling, cooking, and of course, snowboarding. Chris shared with me that their story proved to him that romance still exists, you just need to be patient. And with that romantic heart for Katie, Chris proposed and asked Katie to be his wife at the top of that same chair lift where they met years ago on Vail Mountain.
On a perfect warm sunny day in Vail, Colorado – together with their family and friends, Chris & Katie pledged to never leave each other’s side, to love and respect one another and they sealed their promises with a kiss.
Chris & Katie – thank you for being one of the sweetest couples I could photograph and inviting me to share in your beautiful wedding day!
Avanti, their golden retriever, was the cutest flower girl i’ve ever seen! And their ring bearer was pretty cute too!
Vintage Magnolia designed a gorgeous bouquet! I am always excited when I hear they are doing the florals at a wedding. They are artists and are simply fabulous!
Katie. You are simply stunning. Period.
Thank you! Thank you! What an amazing team of vendors I had the privilege of working with! Because of each of your efforts and talent, Chris & Katie’s day went seamlessly!
