Shantel + Evan’s Tattered Cover Bookstore Engagement Session :: Denver Wedding Photographer

People and Portraits

It’s been a crazy, yet exciting season this past Fall!  Agustin and I moved out of Ghana, Africa, I photographed my wedding season in Colorado and a few other fun destinations, and then finally joined Agustin and moved out to our exciting new home in the great city of Seattle!  So, that being said, I got a bit behind on my blogging this Fall, but I’m finally getting caught up and I’m so anxious to share some beautiful stories of my great couples for 2014!  Without further ado.. meet Shantel + Evan. :-)

Evan was waiting in line to sign up for a legal database on the first day of law school orientation, when a beautiful girl caught his eye.  Evan gathered his courage and struck up a conversation with Shantel.  As they stood and waited in line, their conversation was seamless.  They talked, laughed, and buzzed with excitement. But as the first day of orientation came to a close, Evan’s nerves set in – so Shantel, knowing the craziness of law school to come, wouldn’t let this handsome cowboy slip away – so she did what any good future lawyer would, took control of the situation and asked him out to get drinks.

Shantel and Evan have now finished law school (whoop! whoop!) and are starting this next journey hand in hand, engaged to be husband and wife – and you can tell, they couldn’t be any happier.

We started their engagement session at the Tattered Cover Bookstore in Downtown Denver – which seemed like the perfect spot to document their love – since many memories of their developing love story occurred with a book in hand.

Shantel + Evan, I am thrilled to be a part of your special day! Your love is so radiant and I know your wedding day will be nothing short of amazing!

Shantel and Evan had just taken the bar exam just weeks before (which, of course, they passed with flying colors – It’s okay to brag about your friends/clients, right?), so we decided it’d be best to stay far away from LSAT books and spend most of our time in the children’s section – reading some of their favorite childhood stories.

Evan grew up on a wheat farm in Montana, so Evan knows a thing or two about country dancing.  They danced near the water til the sun went down – a magical way to end the shoot.

No words could really describe the sunset that painted the sky that night.

Elopement ready?

I would love to be your elopement photographer and guide!

My superpower is putting people at ease; whether that's behind the camera or on their elopement day solving problems calmly under pressure. I am passionate about building relationships with the people I work with.
