Melissa + Michael’s Vail Sonnenalp Wedding :: Vail Wedding Photographer

Weddings

They would exchange friendly “hellos” before their daily 6:00pm CrossFit class, but their paths didn’t cross beyond the gym.  That is, until Melissa coordinated a group baseball game outing, and invited Michael to come along.   After hanging out and talking throughout the Rockies game, they decided to watch one of Melissa’s favorite childhood movies, “Flowers in the Attic”  which they both agreed turned out to be horrible.  Melissa told me, “That night I knew Michael was the man I wanted to live life with.  I could stay up all night, snuggle, and watch horrible movies with Michael for the rest of my life.”

Michael & Melissa have those admirable traits that so many look for in a life partner.  They are caring, yet push each other to give their best at CrossFit, take full advantage of Colorado’s outdoors, and love each other and others in a tender and beautiful way.   Their wedding took place outside on the beautiful back lawn at the Sonnenalp Hotel in the heart of Vail Village.   They shared their hearts, love, and tears in front of their family and friends as they said their vows and sealed their promise with a kiss.

Melissa & Michael – I have loved getting to know you over this year!  You two are one of the sweetest and most genuine couples I have met!  I truly appreciate you sharing your lives and love story with me and giving me the opportunity to document it.  Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Mckibben (aka Mr. & Mrs. Kibbles!)

I loved how their save the dates looked just like old fashion Vail ski lift tickets! Great job Lilah Paper !

Flowers were done by the talented team at Secret Garden in Vail – Melissa’s bouquet was stunning!

One of my favorite memories of the day. While taking photos of Melissa’s girlfriends, this lady walked up to us and said, “Hey! My son is so good-looking, you will definitely want him in your photos! Come on, he’d do it! He’d be the best guy here to photo bomb your photo!” So of course…we took up the offer – and he didn’t object. :)

EPIC dessert table!  Seriously, best dessert table I’ve ever seen.

This is what happens when your friends are CrossFit studs. CrossFit group photo = Pure Awesomeness.
