Kristin + Jim tied the knot one year ago yesterday on 10.26.2013 at the Bull Valley Golf Club outside of Chicago, IL.  It was an incredible fall wedding and you can click here to see their original full blog post!

I always love hearing which photos really touch a couple’s heart, so in honor of their wedding anniversary I asked Kristin + Jim which was their favorite wedding photo and why.  Here was Kristin’s response and her favorite wedding photo below!

“This is my favorite photograph Kelly took of Jim and me at our wedding 1 year ago.  First of all, it’s crazy that one year has gone by!  Second of all, I loved ALL of my wedding pics, so how could I choose just one?  

When I actually stopped to think about it for more than a second, the choice was a no-brainer to me.

I still remember Kelly’s advice to me on the day of my wedding.  It went something along the lines of today is going to be a blur, so try your best to intentionally capture a few of your own photographs in your mind to soak in some of the moments of the day.

She happened to catch one of those moments on film.  I say “happened,” but Kelly is an amazingly gifted photographer, so I’m sure she knew exactly what she was doing. 

Jim and I had just come in from taking photos outside between our ceremony and reception.  We were taking a few minutes just to warm up and just relax before heading into the party.

In this moment, the blur had come into a sharp focus.  Jim and I forgot about everything else and without words, relished in the knowledge of finally becoming husband and wife.  I love how Kelly was able not only to capture this moment but also to photograph it in such a way that truly demonstrates the inherent sweetness and his tenderness Jim shows me every day, especially on that day.  There was nothing posed about this photo.  It was a very real moment and very special moment of which I am so thankful to have both a vivid memory and gorgeous photograph.”

I love this photo even more now because of the incredible meaning behind it!!  Happy Anniversary!  It is moments like this one when you are reminded as a photographer the incredible honor it is to witness such sweet and tender moments between a couple and the responsibility that comes with that role.  I truly love my job and this couple! Congrats you two!
