Just a couple of years ago, Candice + Brandon were introduced through mutual friends and Brandon was instantly attracted to Candice’s warm personality and her contagious laugh. They spent time getting to know each other as friends, but over the course of their friendship they both began to realize they shared a connection that was special. One Sunday afternoon Brandon and Candice spent the day soaking in the sun and swimming in the lake with their friends. Candice is not a fan of open water and was reluctant to jump in, but Brandon sweetly said to her, “Sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith and jump.” This was just days before they decided to become a couple and Candice knew exactly what he meant. So they took that leap of faith and a year later, here they are planning their wedding and the next adventure together!
When I first met Brandon & Candice for coffee, it did not take long to know we were going to be friends. They have a heart for adventure, love to hike and be active outdoors, to travel and try new things. So while we were planning out their engagement session, we discussed the options that would be the perfect and personal backdrop for the shoot. So we decided to start the session in their neck of the woods in downtown Kirkland, where they share so many wonderful memories. It was a gorgeous warm sunny day that could not have been more perfect! We later ventured out to Rattlesnake Lake, where they love to hike and had a beautiful picnic by the water with a great craft beer and one heck of a view! Here are a few highlights from our evening enjoying the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and celebrating the love of two incredibly genuine and caring people! Candice + Brandon, I am thrilled to be documenting your wedding this upcoming Fall and LOVE when my clients turn into friends! Thank you for inviting me to capture a glimpse of your story!
Candice is an incredible baker and she spoiled us with some sweet treats for our session!
Then we made our way out to Rattlesnake Lake and it was the ideal setting for this adventurous couple!
Always fun when a muddy puppy wants to join in on the fun!
On our way home, we came across a park in Kirkland with golden light that was too magical not to pull over and take advantage of the last moments of the warm sunset.
