Nestled in the heart of the Pacific Northwest, Mt. Rainier stands as a stunning backdrop for winter engagement sessions–or really, any season for that matter! Elizabeth and Scott chose this iconic location for their winter engagement shoot due to their love of all things hiking, snow sports, and generally being in nature. Not to mention, their perfect date would include a hike at Mount Rainier, take the lake boat or jet ski out on Lake Washington, snowboard in the winter, go for scramble or snowshoe, or curl up on the couch and read a book while cooking delicious soup! Let’s dive into their enchanting tale and explore what makes Mt. Rainier the perfect setting for a romantic winter escapade.
Elizabeth and Scott’s story began with a serendipitous encounter at their favorite haunt, Foreign National. Despite Scott’s fashionably late arrival (clocking in at over 45 minutes), Elizabeth’s first impression of him was nothing short of enchanting. His warm eyes and infectious laughter quickly won her over, setting the stage for a love story that would transcend time and seasons.
What drew Elizabeth to Scott was his unwavering zest for life. Whether it’s his passion for the great outdoors, his insatiable curiosity for history and wildlife, or his love for music and sports, Scott’s enthusiasm is truly contagious. But beyond his myriad of interests, it’s his kindness, loyalty, and sense of humor that captured Elizabeth’s heart. Their love bloomed amidst simple moments – dancing to music in her apartment on their one-year pandemic anniversary, savoring the sweetness of life’s simple pleasures.
Mt. Rainier Winter Engagement Shoot
For their winter engagement shoot at Mt. Rainier, Elizabeth and Scott embarked on an adventure filled with snow-laden landscapes and frost-kissed forests. However, navigating a winter session atop the mountain comes with its own set of challenges. With the looming threat of inclement weather, access to the mountaintop can be limited, as Elizabeth and Scott experienced firsthand. Despite arriving just in time to witness the breathtaking beauty of the summit, they were met with the closure of the upper levels due to an impending storm.
That’s why my experienced tip is to always make sure you’re checking in on weather conditions and road closures in and around Mt. Rainier no matter what time of year you go!
Nevertheless, the lower levels of Mt. Rainier offer a picturesque alternative, with winding trails and dense forests providing a stunning backdrop for their love story to unfold. As they explored the wintry wonderland hand in hand, Elizabeth and Scott’s bond grew stronger, illuminated by the soft glow of the winter sun filtering through the towering evergreens.
Tip number two is to make a solid back up plan! Be sure to look at all the areas around your initial choice of engagement shoot location! We can make plans A, B and C so its a stress free experience if you have to change your course!
Elizabeth and Scott’s Mt. Rainier winter engagement serves as a testament to the enduring beauty of love, even amidst the chilliest of seasons. Their story reminds us that while nature’s elements may pose challenges, it’s the warmth of love and companionship that truly shines through.
