Throwback Travel Thursday :: Siem Reap, Cambodia

Travel

So today I’m starting a new fun series called “Throwback Travel Thursday” Original, I know. ;)  See, I am great at taking a lot of fun photos during my travels, but not as great as sharing them after.  My friends can attest to this.  Sorry guys, I know you still love me :)  I just get back into “work mode” when I get home that I put other projects before my personal travel photos – and then it just doesn’t happen for a while. So to keep the TBTT short and sweet – I have decided just to pick one photo from a travel adventure and share a small story with the occasional full blog post if I feel so inspired.   This may be more for me than anyone else, but hey – should be a fun distraction :)

So today – I stumbled across one of my favorite photos from the first trip that Agustin and I took together.  Agustin use to live in Singapore, and I went out to visit him once I was done with classes for the summer and while we were there he surprised me and we took a weekend adventure to Siem Reap, Cambodia! (Note: If you want to travel to a lot of fun and amazing Southeastern Asian countries – Singapore is a great hub and you can to go to many places really quick and pretty affordable too!)

I LOVE this photo.  If you have ever spent time with me around cute animals, you may notice I have a totally different voice that comes out in a high octave. I have so much excitement I just can’t contain it!  I have a thing for animals, but I love elephants! So this photo is of the first time I fed an Indian Elephant.  So as I was getting ready to feed the elephant, I looked over at Agustin and said, “Hey babe, is the camera ready? Are you taking a photo?” And while I was looking the other way, I didn’t calculate how long an elephant’s trunk is and he reached over my shoulder with his trunk and grabbed the banana! This was the moment right after that! Just another reason I love photography!  You can relive memories in such a vibrant way!

Welp, hope you enjoy this new fun series Throwback Travel Thursday as much as I do! (Note: Lets all appreciate the reactions of the guy on the elephant behind me and the girl’s smirk  – love it :) If you have ever had a fun trip or cool experience with an elephant – be sure to share your own adventure below! I love hearing stories!

Kelly you’re the cutest thing! I also get a little out of hand around cute animals. I once showed up to a wedding consultation at a Starbucks, and they brought their brand new golden doodle puppy. I ran right past the couple, crawled under the table and pet the puppy before saying hi… embarrassing!!

  2. What an experience! It seems every time I see fun exploration photos like this my bucket list gets longer and longer!

  3. Tosha says:
