I’m so excited to reveal Juliana’s nursery! This has literally become my favorite room in the house!
I love integrating my eclectic style and the influence of the places we have lived with a more mid century / minimal / boho vibe! Agustin and I lived in Ghana, West Africa for almost 2 years early in our marriage and had the joy of going on a Safari in South Africa for our anniversary. It was one of the most magical experiences of our lives!! We love animals and we were excited to bring that part of our story into the design of the room!
During the surrogacy journey – it was hard to find ways for the pregnancy to feel real…to feel connected to little Juliana. I loved checking in on Lexi, flying out for visits and appointments, but creating and preparing a physical space for our little one was the project I needed to be reminded of the reality that our baby was coming soon! I wanted to create a space that brought me joy, gave me peace and reflected our story and style. I LOVE seeing little Juls in her room! EEEK!
The nursery room is pretty small, so we painted the walls white to keep the room bright and open – but I also wanted a bit of texture. So I asked Agustin to build a “shiplap” accent wall and I love how it turned out!
I had a specific design and color palette in mind – but knew I wanted help bringing my ideas to life and helping me find the pieces that would fit the space and our budget! Insert – the BEST solution – Havenly! Its an interior design app! This is not a sponsored post – I just had a great experience and it was so easy and affordable – that I’m excited to share this resource!
Here’s how it works : take a quiz to learn more about your style, start a project (you can do consults, partial rooms or full room designs), and select an interior designer of your choice! Then the fun begins! You share about the space, ideas, pinterest boards, budget and dimension and your designer helps bring your ideas and make them a reality – then press order and all the items (coming from different stores) all ship to your house!
After taking the quiz – my style was defined as a blend of eclectic, bohemian, global, minimal and a touch of scandinavian influence! I love branding and colors and I loved learning more about my style and seeing that come to life within the nursery design!
If you want to design a project of your own with the help of an interior designer I have a COUPON! You can get $50 off a full project (original price is $179) or $20 off a mini project ( original price $99)! This is such a great deal – for weeks of work and guidance from your own interior designer! Check out this Havenly Coupon Code to take advantage of the discount! I love how this pendant light paints the ceiling at night!
Ok here is the inside look at how I used Havenly and how Kyla Marie Interiors (my amazing interior designer!) helped me bring my design ideas to life! Here are the 3 photos I used for my initial inspiration for color palette and overall vibes:
Then she helped create 3 different design boards based on my style profile and I could rate each one – and make comments on each item she listed!
Then once I sent her my feedback – we narrowed down the design and landed on this!
Then I decided that cream rug was something I saw everywhere and was too “safe” for me – so I told Kyla – I wanted to find a patterned rug that was still in the earth tone color palette but a bit outside my comfort zone and she helped me find the perfect piece to bring it all together!
Finally – she sent over my 3D rendering and it was exactly what I was hoping for!!
And this 3D rendering turned into this! I took some time to add in the final accessories and decor pieces – and here is the final result!
