Winter Getaway: 5 Pacific Northwest Locations

Travel

winter getaway in the pacific northwest

Living in the pacific northwest is not for the faint of heart during winter! Our flourishing spring and summer seasons are the *reason* we all manage to power through the gloomy months. If you’re native to the pacific northwest you know that a winter getaway is a must. Hopping on a plane to SOCAL is a common option, but enjoying the many hidden, local gems is just as rewarding! Listed below are five amazing pacific northwest winter getaways that I highly recommend.

Canyon Creek Cabins

This is the perfect winter getaway for those living near the Seattle area. The Canyon Creek Cabins are an hour drive north of Seattle, tucked away in Granite Falls. This area is the definition of lush, wooded hideaway yet not quite off the grid. My favorite part about this winter getaway is that there are multiple cabins in a small community. The website shares the following information about the area:

“The cabin is a one hour drive from Seattle, and just minutes outside of Granite Falls, WA. This area is often referred to as the gateway to the Cascades, and the cabin is just a 20-minute drive to some of the best hiking and most beautiful natural features that Washington has to offer. Some of our favorite hikes include: Gothic Basin, Big Four Ice Caves, Mt. Pilchuck Fire Lookout, Lake Twenty-Two, and Heather Lake.”

Enjoying the “Gateway to the Cascades”, the large windows and steaming hot tub are the perfect remedy for those PNW winter blues and the main reason for making my winter getaway list!

The Woodlands House

Number two on our list is the perfect forest hideout! The Woodlands House is located in Sandy, Oregon on five acres of old growth forest. My favorite feature about this Air Bnb is the six person hot tub that is located on ONE of the two decks. This cabin offers tons of natural lighting and is surrounded by towering pines that make you feel extra tucked away from the world. This privacy is cherished and protected with limited cell phone service and minimal electronics within the cabin. Unplug, relax, and reconnect this winter at The Woodlands House!

Tye Haus – A Frame Cabin

The Tye Haus takes cozy to a new level! This adorable A frame cabin is tucked away in a private community, right outside of Steven’s Pass in Washington State. If you are interested in a beautiful place to stay that has quick access to the slopes, this getaway is perfect for you. In addition to the endless romantic cabin vibes, this getaway comes equipped with a hot tub, indoor fire place, furnished kitchen, and sleeps up to four people. The Tye Haus has earned incredible Air Bnb street cred with almost 700 reviews and an overall rating of 4.85.

The Hide & Seek

This updated, vintage cabin is located in Rhododendron, Oregon. “Hide & Seek” truly embodies the concept of cozy as this cabin is only 600 sq ft! Meant to be the perfect getaway for two, the owners have poured love into every detail of this remodel. The house is heated by the flooring and a modern woodstove ensuring a warm visit during your winter escape. One of my favorite features about this Air Bnb is the sauna on the property – talk about maximum relaxation!! While Hide & Seek is aiming for off-the-grid aesthetics, there is access to fast reliable wifi if needed.

The Overlook – Modern Leavenworth Cabin

And now the best for last! My good friend Tonie Christine has an unbelievable Air Bnb cabin in Leavenworth, Washington. This modern cliffhanging cabin rests above the Wenatchee river offering breathtaking views from all angles of the house. The vibe inside is chic, modern, and extremely inviting! Tonie’s husband grew up in the area and dreamed of building an EPIC cabin and they did just that #dreamscomingtrue

The Overlook sleeps up to six guests and is only a two minute drive from the heart of downtown Leavenworth, Washington. Aside from amenities on amenities, my favorite feature of this cabin is the master bathroom. The entire shower faces the forest with a floor to ceiling window! Think luxurious, wellness retreat meets modern mountain vibes! This is definitely a winter get away you won’t want to miss :)
